SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER

YOU WILL

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets.
  • Be a key point of contact for the projects on financial and accounting matters.
  • Monitor and track expenditures on various budgets and provide analytical feedback and advise.
  • Report any findings such as large deviations, unusual spending, different booking procedures are used by the different projects, to the Support Manager.
  • Review monthly bookkeeping reports and give feedback to finance officer on use of codes, prices of goods and monitors balances on advances, and cash disparities etc.
  • Align invoicing with contractual commitment.
  • Overview regulation of payments such as contracts, licenses, insurances and other regular payments and make sure these are updated/paid in a timely manner.
  • Supervise the finance and admin staff in the support department.
  • Improve the skills of the support department staff through capacity building and on the job coaching.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU NEED

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration.
  • CFA is an advantage.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in finance, ideally for an international NGO.
  • Knowledge of various donors’ financial rules and regulations.
  • To be able to construct budgets in consultation with programmatic team members.
  • Experience in reporting to donors in an NGO environment.
  • Advanced experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
