Technical guidance and follow-up on planning and implementation of CP in Education activities
- Function as the focal point for child protection within education activities;
- Provide technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of PSS activities provided to vulnerable children/adolescents and their families in education centers and local communities, in addition to other key project activities under Education Projects;
- Plan, organize and co-ordinate the CP activities of the Education project under the technical supervision of the CP Specialist and Education Specialist;
- Make frequent centers’ and field visits to monitor staff’s performance in terms of applying CP and PSS skills and approaches, and provide reporting on performance and recommendations;
- Provide frequent written reports and recommendations to ensure that field-level activities effectively integrate international and national CP frameworks;
- In coordination with the CP team, ensure that Education staff are fully appraised of the full array of children rights and protection issues and how they should be addressed;
- Supervise and coordinate the work of staff involved in the education, psychosocial support, and CP activities;
- Organize monthly meetings with Animators (CP focal points), teachers and Volunteers, and center staff to share lessons learned and exchange experiences in terms of CP and PSS activities implementation;
- Identify gaps and challenges related to implementation of CP principles in education projects and propose solutions and actions to be taken to address them through a formal action plan;
- Participate regularly to coordination meetings with Child Protection team to bring learning and best practices from CP Program into Education Program implementation;
- Identify potential for new approaches and methodologies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of CP in education interventions;
- Regularly monitor the effective implementation of a center-based service mapping and referral system for CP cases, coordinated with CP service mappings;
- In coordination with Area coordinators, help to design and supervise the Community Outreach intervention (home visits, focus group, community meetings, awareness sessions), ensuring a direct participation of the beneficiaries in the planning of the activities;
- Coordinate with Inclusive Education Officer and Education Technical Officer to integrate approaches
Capacity building related to CP in Education
- In Coordination with CP technical team, design trainings and capacity building plans for organization staff including teachers, community and bus volunteers, partners, support staff such as drivers, CBO and NGO members and SDCs, considering especially priority thematic areas such as CP in education, psychosocial support, safe identification and referral, and community resilience;
- Refer beneficiaries requiring case management o relevant internal and external CP providers, and follow up the referred cases' conditions in collaboration with the center coordinators and outreach worker of the relevant location;
- Regularly liaise with Education sub -Partners to ensure they implement TDH IT policies and CP principles.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning
- Work with the TDH IT M&E/Data unit to ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems are in place, support staff in all monitoring processes and provide monthly and weekly reports on progress of activities in the centers;
- Act as PSEAH focal point and lead trainer on PSEAH for the TDH IT and Partners Education Staff to ensure implementation of PSEAH policy at field level;
- Oversight of referral tracking tools and mechanisms, including identification of challenges and supporting field teams improve referral reporting and follow-up;
- Assist in addressing and investigating complaints about the behavior of organization staff related to the infringement of CP policy, PSEAH policy & Code of Conduct and child rights;
- Contribute to lessons learned, revision of evaluations and project planning workshops, including strategic and financial planning as needed;
- Ensure lessons learned are disseminated and appropriated by field staff.
External representation
- Establish working relationships with other agencies operating in the mission area;
- Coordinate and participate and/or contribute substantively to general training programs, workshops and expert group meetings, at organizational and consortium level;
- Represent the agency/organization in meetings with other partners and other actors, to advocate and promote program goals and objectives, and communicate with major partners on policies (when needed);
- Liaise with other NGOs and /or CP under the accordance of consortium (when applicable) to ensure implementation of common standards and having common child protection lens.
- Participate in other field visits, assessment and monitoring missions, press and donor visits as necessary.
Reporting
- Provide regular written reports to the Education Specialist, CP Specialist, consortium, and relevant task forces;
- Provide support on internal and donor reporting requirements.
