I. INTRODUCTION
Project Background Information
The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014 and had started as a project launched in 2010 by the United States Forest Service (USFS) Office of International Programs (IP) through the support and funding of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
LRI is currently planning to start the implementation of the “Supporting Livelihoods through Forestry-SLF” project with the World Food Programme (WFP) in several regions of Lebanon, with the overall objective of “Increasing the access of targeted vulnerable Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese people to employment and income through a participatory approach to a sustainable management of natural resources and enhanced climate adaptation practices”.
II. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
LRI seeks a full-time Data Collection & MEL Officer for the project for the period of Six months starting July 1st, 2022, till December 31, 2022. The Data Collection & MEL Officer will help the project team ensure smooth work progress in compliance with WFP requirements reporting to the Project Manager.
The Data Collection & MEL Officer is expected to perform the following duties:
- Communicate/report the participants’ data on regular basis
- Prepare outreach lists, verify the participants’ data and documents
- Verify the eligibility of workers
- Prepare and submit service and payment lists based on donor’s requirements
- Receive e-cards, PINs, payment issues from the field and report/follow up with the donor
- Verify the loadings and participants’ payments
- Coordinate workers’ data on LRI database and report to LRI-MEL team
- Maintain and manage a very clear, accurate and clean data base during the project’s duration
- Prepare data analysis reports when needed
- Support the project staff and the MEL department when needed
III. REQUIREMENTS
The Data Collection & MEL Officer should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience:
- BA in Business Administration, Economics, MIS or any related field
- 3-5 years of experience in data collection, data entry, and database management
- Experience working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- Showing close attention to details, accuracy, consistency, and excellent concentration during work
- Experience in donor’s policies and regulations
- Strong analytical, communication and inter-personal skills
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic
