Community Assistant in Beirut

The Community Assistant supports the coordinator in carrying out daily tasks and assisting the staff during the implementation of the projects’ activities. She/he helps in the active involvement of target communities with a participatory approach and co-facilitates sessions and assists in conducting recreational and psychosocial activities inside his/her community for children.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides support in child protection activities planned by the organization
• Implement outreach initiatives within target communities
• Help in the active involvement of target communities with a participatory approach
• Make sure beneficiaries are on time
• Maintain organized and protected database and beneficiary data
• Co-facilitate and attend group sessions when needed 
• Execute any requested task from trainer and supervisor during the sessions
• Follow up on the outline of the session in coordination with the trainer
• Perform any duties assigned by the coordinator
• Work in office and on the field upon requirement 
• Timely identify, inform, and discuss any issues with his/her supervisor

EXPERIENCE:

• University degree in psychology, social work, education, social sciences and/or other relevant degrees.
• Experience in working with children in emergency context, preferably with an NGO.
• At least one-year of experience in similar jobs.

• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail with strong follow up
• Team-oriented, with ability to work efficiently and independently
• Have excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with others
• Can multitask, work well under pressure, and work efficiently to meet strict deadlines
