Environmental Services Supervisor - Makassed Hospital

  • Job Objective:

 The environmental services supervisor will provide leadership, direction and management oversight for continuous improvement of the EVS and laundry department within the hospital in support of its mission and vision, by providing an optimal environment for patient care, safety, service and value. Manage the day to day operations of the department and ensure a consistently high level of cleanliness to patients, visitors and staff.

  • Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Hospitality Management or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role in the healthcare sector would be a plus
  • Main tasks & duties:

 

  • Plan, Direct, organize and supervise the hospital's cleaning services in coordination with the assigned cleaning company: Housekeeping, Waste management and pest control management.

 

  • Develop and implement the action plan and the policies and procedures of the cleaning in coordination with the infection control department and the support services.

 

  • Lead modification, development and implementation of operational procedures related to environmental services and waste management policies properly

 

  • Ensure development of quality control standards and implementation of a system of continuous audit.

 

  • Promotes a culture of safety, hygiene, patient experience, as well as employee engagement and retention.

 

  • Track daily operations and establish improvement initiatives.

 

  • Manage the necessary and required resources for the environmental services and laundry department and provide recommendations for staffing levels, products and equipment.

 

  • Address the needs of and interact with patients, visitors, guests, team members, and other health care workers.

 

  • Provide leadership, direction and management oversight for continuous improvement of the standard EVS operating model within the hospital in support of its mission and vision.

 

  • Provide an optimal environment for patient care, safety, service and value.

 

  • Manage the day to day operations of the department and ensure a consistently high level of cleanliness to patients, visitors and staff.

 

  • Plan, organize, and direct programs which encourage environmentally sound and cost effective methods for infection control, disposal of hazardous, bio hazardous, medical waste, recovery of recyclables and waste prevention.

 

  • Work closely with infection control department to develop programs to address infection control processes, biohazard and environmental problems.

 

  • Monitor staff productivity, performance, and program implementation for customer satisfaction.

 

  • Review daily laundry services and ensure that departments’ needs are being met.
