Driver Light Vehicles - TYR SD

Main Responsibilities:

The Driver Light Vehicles has the following functional responsibilities:

• Drive light vehicles to transport people and/or material in strict adherence to internal security rules and national traffic laws.
• Constantly monitors security conditions on the road. 
• Ensure that goods are stored inside the vehicle according to local, international and ICRC safety standards (attachment and distribution of goods, etc.).
• Check the assigned vehicle(s)' equipment, general functioning and body condition and ensures that it is kept fuelled and clean inside and out.
• Check that trips have been authorized where necessary.
• Immediately report accidents, defects and/or missing equipment to management.
• Act (May act) as head of convoy as needed (in charge of the driver(s), application of security rules and timeframe for the convoy).
• Follow up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments.
• Collect and share information which aims to improve the ICRC's understanding of the environment and humanitarian trends and responses, when requested.
• Represent the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the ICRC's image.
• Takes responsibility for her/his own professional learning and development.
• Keep aware of the delegation's objectives and maintain a good knowledge of the Movement and other contacts relevant to the position.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar position, experience in a non-governmental or non-profit organization an asset.
• Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment (Tyr).
• Advanced knowledge for policies and procedures as well as driving laws in Lebanon.
• Knowledgeable of traffic awareness and road safety procedures.
• Familiarity with Eco-Safe driving styles.
• Ability to anticipate and plan accordingly.
• Ability to respect time and use it productively and efficiently.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential correspondence.
• Good command of English. 

Certifications/Education Required:

• High School Diploma.
• Trainings and certifications, related to car repair and maintenance, in addition to security and safety are a real plus. 

Job Details:

Work Place: Tyr, Lebanon (with repetitive field trips to all Lebanese areas). 

Contract Type: Full Time.

Contract Period: 12 Months.
