PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project will empower young women to take control over their career choices by providing skills and opportunities to increase their employability and support them to make informed life choices. This will be achieved through high quality career services and life skills training and a suitable job placement and/or vocational training. Given the precarious economic situation for businesses, the project will strengthen the capacity and resilience of MSEs to withstand the current crises, thereby increasing the likelihood that women will remain employed after job placement. The project will improve Public-Private dialogue and engagement by promoting collaboration between the private sector, SDCs and project beneficiaries. In addition, the project will encourage women rights and regulatory frameworks conducive to growth of youth and women-led enterprises and decent working conditions.
The overall objective of this project is to Contribute to the empowerment of young women through informed decision making, better employability and linkages with the private sector.

JOB BRIEF:
The Driver position in the Office normally falls under direct supervision of the Logistic Assistant. The incumbent is responsible for up keep and maintenance of the assigned SIF vehicle(s) as per technical guidance and specifications established by the organization. He/She is required to follow strict instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor. While basic function of a Driver is to drive the official vehicles of SIF, he/she may be called upon to perform minor maintenance and repair of SIF vehicles.
Driver responsibilities include arranging regular maintenance services for the vehicle, planning each route based on road and traffic conditions and managing staff, logistics and financial transfers.
Accountability (key results that will be achieved)
Assigned SIF vehicles are properly maintained and equipped as per technical guidance and specifications established by the Organization.
Local traffic rules and regulations are strictly observed.
Instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor and security focal point are strictly followed by the Driver and the passengers during the journey.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
- Drive SIF vehicles for the transport of authorized passengers and delivery and collection of mail, documents, SIF pouch and other items.
- Transport staff and equipment under good security conditions with respect to the country circulation rules and SIF driving policies
- Perform day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles; check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc. and ensure that the assigned SIF vehicles are road worthy and maintained up to the established security standards.
- Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean.
- Ensure the night shift when needed, respecting SIF rules and procedures
- Maintain the Logbook and consumption register
- Obtain regular information on road access and safety
- Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and trip formalities as required.
- Assist in purchases and collect quotations from suppliers
- Assist in maintenance tasks for the office
- Assist staff mainly field monitors in carrying heavy load stuff when needed
- Assist in distribution of goods and vouchers when needed
- Other tasks which can requested by the line manager
Authority (decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results)
- Drive the vehicle only when his/her safety or security is not at risk.
- Ask the Passenger about the destination of the journey and route.
- Decline to drive passengers not authorized to be in a SIF vehicle.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Grade 9 or secondary school certification are considered a minimum requirement.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in working with INGOs.
- Languages: Fluent in Arabic and intermediate in English. French is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge in car mechanics
- Knowledge in First Aid concepts
- Competent in driving several types of cars and in security measures to drive passengers safely
- Advanced knowledge in roads rules and regulations

- Respect and promote SIF’s Policies and procedures
- Report to line manager any discrepancies of SIF’s policies among the team or partners
