World Learning – QITABI 2: Call for Communication Trainer

USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI 2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools. World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “Trainer” for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI II) in Lebanon. This position is for a Lebanese national. Scope and Responsibilities The consultant/ Trainer will be working in close coordination with QITABI 2 Senior Literacy Technical Director. The consultant will mainly provide participants from DOPS coaches (MEHE), and others as needed with workshops and/or training in the communication skills relevant to coaching teachers in public schools; aiming at empowering coaches to communicate positively with teachers and all stakeholders, covering the following areas: Effective listening • pausing (wait time) before responding, • paraphrasing, • asking open-ended questions to increase clarity, • providing data to drive the conversation to a place of specificity and ensure the focus on student • learning, • paying attention to self /others to facilitate meaningful dialogue, presuming a positive intention The consultant is expected to perform the below services: • Provide workshops or training • Prepare and design training materials, agenda, tools, presentations, assignments, and activities, in communication and mutual understanding with the QITABI 2 team • Prepare Pre-tests and Post-tests for the participants • Adapt training content and prepare presentations and use a highly interactive training methodology • Report on the progress and flow of each training session • Provide all the material needed for the training sessions • At the end of the training, the trainer will present a detailed report about the training and evaluation by assessing training effectiveness including the methods and content of the training. Required Qualifications: • At least 5 years of experience in the topic s/he is applying for • Competency in delivering hands-on-support • Experience in training • Positive attitude, energetic, and very strong communication skills • Excellent presentation skills • Ability to train in both Arabic and English World Learning is an equal employment opportunity committed to increasing the diversity of its workforce.
