Focused Psycho-Social Support Focal Person - UNOCHA

The René Moawad Foundation has a zero tolerance to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of beneficiaries. Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) is everyone’s responsibility and all staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct, that enshrines principles of PSEA, always (both during work hours and outside work hours). Familiarization with, and adherence to, the Code of Conduct is an essential requirement of all staff, in addition to related mandatory training. The René Moawad Foundation (RMF) is seeking a “FPSS Focal Person” for its UNOCHA funded project. The project aims to contribute to the resilience of vulnerable communities in Akkar and Tripoli through the provision of solar energy systems for water points, water points establishment and child protection activities.  This action aims to focus both on the needs of Lebanese and non-Lebanese population.

Position summary

The FPSS focal person will be responsible of the day-to-day operations of CBPSS activities, which will be implemented in North Lebanon and Akkar.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all FPSS activities are in compliance with RMF CP strategy, international standards and national policies.
  • Provide strategic direction, leadership and overall technical and management support to FPSS team members;
  • Lead the implementation of the FPSS activities, foster efficiencies, increase impact and favors integrated approaches with RMF programs;
  • Supervise and provide technical support to FPSS team to implement activities to a high quality standard;
  • In collaboration with the project manager, ensure smooth management of FPSS component and accurate reporting in accordance with RMF and donor regulations.
  • Review progress in achieving FPSS objectives and targets in collaboration with the project coordinator.
  • Liaise with CP consultant on a regular basis to ensure technical assistance is provided when needed
  • Liaise with the M&E Department to ensure that the output and impact data are captured and used to optimize program quality and identify efficiencies.
  • Undertake regular field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify technical quality issues and/or other implementation issues, provide solutions and implement modifications as required.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to determine the child protection needs of the target areas;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of integrated programming approaches that serve the needs of beneficiaries across the range of sectors in which the RMF operates. 
  • Represent RMF at FPSS -related coordination meetings, ensuring proper dissemination of information among relevant partners, donors and relevant government institutions.
  • Support organizing and facilitating field visits for partners, donors and others interested in RMF CP projects.
  • Adhere to and act in accordance with RMF Policies and Procedures.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Head of Education and Human Development Department to enable and develop RMF CP projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in International Development, Social Work, or similar relevant social science;
  • Minimum 3 years of professional technical experience in Child Protection activities;
  • Strong strategic thinking and report writing skills;
  • Strong leadership, program, and staff management and capacity building skills;
  • Experience in working in group;
  • Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, flexibility, ability to improvise, team player.
  • Ability to productively work under pressure while maintaining a sense of humor;
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Ability to manage and work through change in a proactive and positive manner;
  • Previous experience in managing CP related projects;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic;
