The Opportunity
Under the supervision of the CRG Coordinator and the CP Coordinator , the CRG and CP Assistant is responsible for the promotion of the Rights of the Child in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child through co-operation with local community members and civil society actors.
The CRG & CP Assistant will be responsible for the direct implementation of project activities Beirut, Mount Lebanon and South Field Offices. The project activities will include but will not be limited to delivering awareness raising for children and caregivers on child rights and CP related issues. Moreover, the CP and CRG Assistant will be responsible for facilitating and supporting community led initiatives related to child rights, child protection, and social cohesions. This should be done according to the guidelines of Save the Children International.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- Bachelor degree in social work, education, human rights or development studies.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, and English. French is a plus.
- 2 years’ experience in social and field work.
- Knowledge of the Human Rights and the Child Rights Convention.
- Knowledge of the Child Protection Sector SOPs
- previous experience with children on child rights awareness.
- Strength in interpersonal relationships and communication skills.
- A demonstrated understanding of national development issues in particular in relation to children.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
