Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Project Coordinator

Main Role

The Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Project Coordinator oversees the efficient implementation of the MMU project in compliance with the plans, strategies, protocols and quality standards set at Medico-Social Sector (MSS)- Headquarters (HQ). He/she shall also communicate with relevant functions/MSS Service Delivery Channels to ensure optimal cross-functional and quality service offerings.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Be directly responsible for the technical guidance, management and implementation of the project.
  2. Closely monitor the implementation of the project activities, in compliance with LRC policies and procedures, through regular field visits.
  3. Develop field visit reports and communicate them with the field team and the upper management.
  4. Ensure that minimum standards of technical quality are adhered to in all activities and interventions, which are technically appropriate, suitable for the given emergency stage, realistic, and on budget.
  5. Ensure project deliverables are met as well as donor and management reports are accurate and timely.
  6. Support in developing budgets related to the project  and control expenditure accordingly.
  7. Coordinate with other HQ project coordinators, LRC sectors, partners and other stakeholders for effective implementation of the project.
  8. Develop and update project related documents, proposal and log-frame.
  9. Develop project related monitoring and evaluation tools.
  10. Plan and set MMU operations schedules, resource allocation and service offerings.
  11. Supervise record keeping and data accuracy while ensuring sensitive data confidentiality and safety.
  12. Develop & communicate quantitative and qualitative progress reports with internal and external stakeholders, as requested.
  13. Support and guide the field  teams to overcome any ongoing project challenges.
  14. Provide leadership and direction within MMU Coordinators and focal Persons (and other team members upon need) towards the achievement of project’s objectives & outcomes.
  15. Ensure the responsibilities and duties of each team member are specified and clearly communicated.
  16. Organize regular follow-up and evaluation meetings for team members.
  17. Guide, motivate, and evaluate project  team members on their performance, productivity and progress.
  18. Ensure the team members acquire the required skills and knowledge through identifying & planning appropriate training needs.
  19. Follow up on MMU  teams’ HR related matter
  20. Coordination with the PMER team to prepare proposals and follow up on available funding opportunities.
  21. Develop plans to cater to emergencies in coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  22. Undertake all duties as and when necessary to support MSS.

 

Function-related Experience

  • Experience in project coordination including field supervision, monitoring and evaluation and reporting
  • Good understanding of delivering humanitarian response in insecure environments.
  • Experience in preparing and managing project proposals for non-profit organization.
  • Previous experience in issues related to health.
  • Computer literate, especially MS Word and Excel
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English language.
  • Experience of team coordination, negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience in community based activities.  
  • Experience in similar volunteer-based organizations or humanitarian organizations is desirable.
