JOB TITLE: Head of HR Unit

ABOUT ABAAD

ABAAD – Resource Centre for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC-accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region.

JOB PURPOSE:

Under the direct supervision of ABAAD Founder and Director, the Head of HR unit will undertake a variety of human resources administrative duties. This includes assisting with recruitment and performance appraisals, maintaining employee records, assisting with payroll processing and providing administrative support to employees.

REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports to ABAAD’s Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Write and review HR policies and procedures

2. Ensure the implementation of HR policies and procedures, in line with the Lebanese labor law

3. Coordinate between all HR units

4. Oversee the recruitment process and review reference checks

5. Conduct interviews for senior positions

6. Support in tests correction when needed

7. Review Job offers prior getting management approval

8. Update staffing list in regards to projects and implementation

9. Review drafted reports for HR units

10. Provide support to L&D unit in Designing and developing inductions and onboarding programs for new staff

11. Update the organization’s organogram on a yearly basis

12. Oversee employee orientation and induction

13. Handle employee complaints

14. Conduct investigations and fact findings

15. Write and conduct disciplinary measure meetings

16. Assist supervisors in performance management procedures when needed

17. Ensure proper implementation of ABAAD Code of Conduct and policies at all times

18. Draft consultancy contracts and consult ABAAD’s legal advisor on employees’ contractual matters

19. Prepare and follow up on consultants and daily workers payment requests

20. Provide support to ABAAD management as requested

21. Attend meetings for projects planning and reviews

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field

· Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position Good understanding of the Lebanese Labor law

· Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

· Fluency in spoken and written Arabic, clear and concise reporting in English. Knowledge of French is a plus

· Flexible pro-active attitude

· Ability to work under pressure, as individual and in a team

· Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
