Roles and Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Implement Borderless programs while ensuring the fulfilment of its mission, vision, and objectives.
  • Ensure effective project management and implementation for all projects.
  • Regularly monitor and review project activities to ensure quality, contractual compliance and timely reporting.
  • Together with the Finance Officer, ensure responsibility for project expenditure, financial accountability, and planning requirements, and provide a high level of support to these activities

Representation

  • Represent or ensure appropriate representation of Borderless in all related forums.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with donors and counterparts.
  • Enhance Borderless image through community outreach and working closely with professionals, and private organizations

Fundraising

  • Develop and adopt new strategies to identify and attract new donors as well as raise money while reflecting the ideals of Borderless
  • Participate in the development of cohesive, focussed and effective program proposals.
  • Coordinate the gathering and sharing of information on existing and emerging donor opportunities and liaise with stakeholders in securing project funding.

Administration and Human Resources Management

  • Promote an open, diverse and participatory work environment.
  • Provide direction, guidance, assistance and support to Managers as appropriate to carry out their responsibilities, and ensure they receive adequate professional guidance and development opportunities.
  • Ensure quarterly performance appraisals for all staff are conducted as required.
  • Create a work environment that provides opportunity for capacity development of NGO staff
  • Establish employment and administrative policies/procedures for all functions
Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree (MBA or Masters degree is a great plus)
  • Non-profit management diploma is a great plus
  • Minimum 5 years proven management experience, demonstrating the capacity to manage budgets, staff and programs, preferably with a NGO.
Other Requirements
  • Backgrounds in project management, operations, business development, finance and strategy are recommended.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to challenges, work effectively in a cross functional, diverse and busy team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership and management in a c setting, excellent people management skills and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop harmonious teams and build team capacity in a cross cultural context.
  • Strong business judgement and decision-making skills
  • Ability to balance and keep track of multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to define and nurture a culture of performance and development
  • Must possess an inquisitive, entrepreneurial and creative mind.
  • Independent and self-directed while able to work and lead a team of creative individuals.
  • Strong leadership skills to develop a high performing team
  • Must be able to work creatively within a budget
  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
  • Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy
Languages
  • Must be fluent in English and Arabic
  • Must be able to communicate in both English and Arabic verbally and in writing
  • Excellent English writing skills are a must
Working hours:

Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 5:00
