Communications Officer/ Specialty in Illustration & Content Production

The Communications Officer is expected to support all communications functions of the Anera Lebanon communication department. The Officer will also provide support in maintaining digital platforms used to capture and disseminate project results and success stories, in addition to supporting communication and outreach efforts, in adherence to Anera’s and its donor’s standards. The officer, who has experience in illustration and animation will be responsible for the production of high quality animated content which translates Anera’s impact. They will handle the task of collecting data from programs and MEAL staff to put together stories, films and produce illustrated visuals. 

This position will report to the Regional Communication Manager and work collaboratively with the technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Transform data into visual content via illustrations (infographics- Vectors-Digital illustration) 
• Regularly produce animated videos that illustrate Anera Lebanon’s impact 
• Draft Arabic stories, captions and various texts 
• Conduct interviews with project beneficiaries 
• Document project activities (film and photo)
• Support in the development of external and internal materials related to different activities and develop communication materials such as success stories.
• Assist in communications plans for a variety of projects and donors, create relevant messaging and content.
• Support in maintaining Anera’s website and social media platforms to promote internet-based knowledge sharing for each project. 
• Coordinate marketing and promotion of the project activities.
• Manage relationships with local partners including local and international non profits.
• Compose, edit, design, record, produce publications such as newsletters, leaflets, and brochures.
• Other duties, as assigned

Basic Requirements

• BA in Communication Art, Audiovisual Production, Multimedia or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
• A strong Illustration and animation skill set with experience in producing illustrated content for nonprofits 
• A good command of technical writing and speaking in Arabic and English 
• Strong Storytelling skills through story writing and film 
• A minimum of three years of relevant experience in Lebanon.
• Experience in communication strategies, digital media and brand development.
• High-level interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop), WordPress, and a variety of website applications (Canvas).
• Experience using online communication platforms and tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.) to manage virtual events, workshops, etc.
