Finance officer

The Finance Officer is responsible for effective delivery of financial services, transparent utilization of financial resources and management of the Finance Unit. He/she analyzes and interprets the financial rules and regulations and provides solutions The Finance Officer works in close collaboration with the project director and the project teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Implementation of operational strategies;

• Management of the Project’ budget and organization of the cost-recovery system;

• Control of accounts and cash management;

1. Ensures implementation of operational strategies focusing on achievement of the following results:

• Full compliance of financial activities, financial recording/reporting system and audit follow up with rules, regulations, policies and strategies; implementation of the effective internal control, proper design and functioning of the financial resources management system. Interpreting and updating staff of the changes in the rules and regulations, guidelines, policies

• Continuous analysis and monitoring of the financial situation, presentation of forecasts for management projects;

• Elaboration and implementation of cost saving and reduction strategies;

• Routinely monitors financial exception for unusual activities, transactions, and investigates anomalies or unusual transactions. Informs supervisors and liaises with other staff of the results of the investigation when satisfactory answers are not obtained;

• Support and advice Sr. Management in alignment of business processes in line with the organization’s Standards and financial policies;

• Analyze financial data and advise management on financial decisions.

2. Manages the budget of project and ensure a good implementation of the activities according to the budget lines:

• Financial resources management through planning, guiding, controlling of the resources in accordance with the organization’s rules, regulations and policies.

• Active participation in budget preparation and timely monitoring and close review of the disbursements against approved work plan
