Grant Writing Officer

  • To conduct extensive research on potential fundraising grant opportunities (national, regional, and international).
  • To establish a donor database and watch system for any new call for proposals.
  • To follow up with donor requirements consequent to grant applications.
  • Supervising the Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals through sectors.
  • Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs.
  • Make sure that sectors meet proposal deadline by specifying priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.
  • Write down modular concept notes (current and potential) of interest for URDA and proposal content, including technical sections, management and staffing sections, resumes, and executive summaries when needed.
  • Synthesize raw content from various sources into a cohesive and comprehensive passage.
  • Ensure final submission is compliant with donor regulations and instructions.
  • Edit and review written proposals by (other sectors) in a professional and credible manner.
  • Conduct interviews and presentations.
  • Attending meetings and identifying opportunities for proposal writing and grant funding.
  • Capacity building and mentoring.
  • Steering a committee (that consists of the concerned sectors, finance, procurement, and M&E members) for each CALL to specify its essential items (Required details, Log Frame, budget, etc.).
  • Conduct trainings for grant writers and technical writing training courses for narrative reports (progress, periodic and final reports).
  • To ensure that all relevant data of beneficiaries from the field is captured and documented during URDA’s events & activities in soft and hard copies.
  • To analyze and report this information in a results-based and timely manner to donors, as well as prepare any document necessary to cover URDA’s projects ensuring impact of the work is reflected.
