Power to Choose – Graphic Designer

Description
Oxfam in Lebanon, with the support of Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and in partnership with Marsa Sexual Health Center, is implementing a project entitled “Power to Choose Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for Young Women and Adolescent Girls” (SRHR Program 2021–2029). This multi-country initiative aims at addressing existing gaps in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in 7 countries in sub-Saharan Africa (DRC and Ghana), in the Middle East (Jordan, Lebanon, oPt), and in Latin America (Bolivia and Honduras).
This project builds on Oxfam’s expertise in using a rights-based approach as well as on Oxfam’s and its local partners’ knowledge and experience through working on shifting power relations and social norms, to collectively advocate for changes to harmful social norms and policies. Communication activities designed include developing a unified visual identity and branding for this project, which will be employed throughout the entire duration of the project to disseminate the designed audio-visual content, including informative factual graphics and human-interest stories.
Objective
Oxfam, in collaboration with Marsa, is looking to hire a professional graphic designer consultant to:
- Generate templates and designs for banners, plaques, roll-ups, publications, documents, flyers, brochures, social media sharegraphics for project visibility and digital presence, and/or any needed relevant material for the project with information on SRHR to be disseminated in trainings and meetings, through involving the partners, and getting inspired by the main project brand.
- Increase project visibility and ensure consistency of material production and visual identity, through creating a branding identity for the project with a unified visual identity throughout the project.
Within this framework, the communication activities of Power to Choose in Lebanon will lead to raise awareness online and offline on the different SRHR needs for women and girls;
- Break stigma and dismantle myths and misconceptions on women’s health narratives by dispersing body positive and inclusive messages and content.
- Ensure access to information to the public via the digital platform/Marsa’s and Oxfam’s social media, and offline by creating a reference for information on SRHR.
- Communicate results and achievements with relevant target audiences.
- Showcase Global Affairs Canada and Oxfam and their contribution to SRHR.
- Disseminate social media posts for project visibility and digital presence on Oxfam’s (Facebook and LinkedIn) and Marsa’s (Facebook and Instagram) through publishing the project’s designed information, human-interest stories, videos, and social-media friendly material.
- Promote the multiple products produced by women champions and groups online and increase the reach of products on SRHR to a wider and more diverse pool of audience.
Job Description
The consultant will:
- Generate designs and templates for communication products for the project as needed (i.e. design for banners, plaques, roll-ups, publications, documents, flyers, brochures, social media sharegraphics, and/or any needed relevant material for the project with information on SRHR)
- Develop the branding and visual identity for the project and maintain it throughout the project in coordination with the Communications Specialist, Oxfam, and Marsa
- Develop a comprehensive action plan and timeline for production in collaboration with Oxfam
- Provide rounds of edits as requested by Oxfam
- Follow Oxfam and donor's guidelines (which will be made available by Oxfam)
- Provide Oxfam with all the designed content in high resolution for printing and for digital
Oxfam will:
- Provide the key messages and content of products.
- Approve the action plan and timeline.
- Provide rounds of feedback and approve the final product/s.
Qualifications
- Availability to start in September 2022.
- Design and design editing skills.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in design and design tools and software.
- Familiarity with the context of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
- Previous experience working with I/NGOs in Lebanon
- Working languages: English and Arabic
- Excellent coordination and communication skills, flexible attitude, and respect for deadlines
