Consortium Program Officer - Beirut

The Opportunity

The Consortium Program Officer will handle information management related tasks including consortium database management for the EUTF funded Haqqi Education consortium, and support the Chief of Party and the Senior MEAL Coordinator in the analysis, monitoring and reporting of operational and MEAL activities. They will also assist the Chief of Party in coordinating Haqqi programmatic work. The consortium is led by Save the Children, with three other I/NGOs, and will implement a two-year project which aims to improve the  learning outcomes and wellbeing for vulnerable children and youth, with or without disabilities, supporting them to reach their full potential. This will be achieved by following  an integrated, cross-sectoral approach, and through a) a focus on improving access to education for out-of-school children by addressing key barriers to education and b) providing quality education to vulnerable children in safe, inclusive and protective learning environments, including youth opportunities and younger children and c) supporting children in public schools at risk of drop out to remain in education, including through retention support/catch up programmes, establishing more conducive learning environments and contribution to enhanced coordination in the education sector. The project will include children and caregivers from the most vulnerable households in refugee and Lebanese communities in Lebanon. 

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:n field.

  • Bachelor degree in social work, International Development, International Relations or related field.
  • At least two years of prior professional experience in a similar post, preferably with an international organization.
  • Experience in digital tools development using XLS coding (Mainly ODK, KOBO, Survey123…)
  • Experience in using Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word, and ability to use computer programs to collect, document and share assessment and monitoring result.
  • Proven excellent English drafting and editing skills.
  • Ability to maintain consistent high standards of professional behavior and achievement when working independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in an international or local NGO (especially during the emergency phase).
  • Able to manage stress and pressure under tight deadlines of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.
  • Interpersonal and Organizational skills.
  • Analytical and Problem Solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to manage relationship in tense situation.
  • Experience in the social/humanitarian field.
  • Ability to take initiative where appropriate to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work.
  • Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation within a mission or the organisation itself.
  • Knowledge of SC operational activities and/ or (non-formal) Education activities.
  • Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding
