Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Behaviour Change Communication Specialist will take on the revision of available communication materials for Health IEC and Behaviour Change Communication Curriculum within the organization and from external sources, assess the needs for additional resources and put together a comprehensive IEC/BCC communication strategy and curriculum for Health promotion. The BCCS will work in autonomy under the management and guidance of the Health Manager/Project Manager.
- Lead, and organise the assessment of communication strategy, curriculum and materials in collaboration with the Health team.
- Lead, quality assure and contribute to development of BCC strategies and plan; including advocacy for resource mobilisation, programme communication, community dialogues, gender and equity, inclusivity.
- Formulate needed IEC materials and approaches in consultation with health project staff and in coordination with communication department.
- Advise the programme team in adapting strategies, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of SBCC interventions, including the generic marketing activities.
- Provide technical support, training and leadership in the development of health behaviour change communication (BCC) strategies and support the development of materials such as BCC tools (flyers, digital content, illustration,…), training modules and work guidance documents.
- Identify BCC gaps amongst Medair Health activities and key partners and initiate relevant and targeted capacity building activities
- Reflect the core values and vision of Medair when interacting with team members, volunteers and beneficiaries.
Provide input to the integration of beneficiary participation into health behaviour change strategies.
Staff Management
- Support field staff in the implementation of the BHCC strategy that will be developed.
- Support staff and volunteers training in BCC
Financial Management
- No financial management.
Communication and Coordination
- Participate in coordination meetings related to Health communication strategy, Medair internal trainings, and other meetings as required, representing Medair and feeding back to the health manager/project manager on relevant issues.
- Provide updates to the Health Manager/Project Manager on a regular basis.
- Coordinate closely with the local community outreach part of the project so that the mobile teams’ activities and community-based activities interlink and complement each other.
Logistics
- Plan and organize logistic needs for BCC revision and creation, to be shared with the Health management and Logistic teams.
Reporting
- Report strategy and material development progress to the Health Manager/Project Manager as required.
Quality Management
Ensure that all standardised templates and forms are used and guidelines are followed.

- Master degree in relevant field Communication, behavioral sciences, social Marketing, Health communication
Team-player with good inter-personal skills

Communication material analysis and communication strategy design.
