BASATINE will support 6,000 farms, reaching 12,000 male and female adult farmers, 10,000 Lebanese and refugee seasonal farm workers, 400 public extension officers and vocational students, 20 input supply/distributor SMEs, 156 agri-food processor micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and over 30 agri-sector key stakeholders (including development actors, donors, local and national government). Overall, the project will maintain/improve over 19,000 jobs and create 700 jobs for male and female value chain actors. Overall, the project will generate the following results:
- Farmers have an increased volume of farms’ sales by the end of the programme;
- Female actors in the agri-sector have improved access, control, or ownership of agricultural productive resources, assets, and services.
- Targeted farms and MSMEs (female/youth-led and owned) have maintained, improved, or increased employment levels including for females, youths and PWDs.
Purpose of the Consultancy - Research & Learning Partner
Under the leadership of Mercy Corps, who is responsible for the implementation of the project’s Specific Objective focusing on research and learning, BASATINE is looking to bring on board a consultancy entity to serve as the project’s long-term Research & Learning partner. The learning partner will support the Consortium’s MERLA TWG aim of technical support, coordination and guidance to consortium partners in regard to Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) as well as Accountability for the programme.
The learning partner will contribute to guiding leadership of the consortium-level MERLA vision and strategy. Specifically, through presenting the design and methodology before launching the research activities to be validated, as well as sharing the research results and findings whether in a regular MERLA meeting or in a more strategic workshop for wider dissemination.
The Research & Learning partner will closely work with the BASATINE team to achieve three main objectives, namely:
1) to support the team with the refinement of the project research and learning agenda;
2) as part of the program’s Specific Objective 5, to lead or actively contribute to the production of at least 7 learning and research reports and briefs and address the needed objectives as per the program’s set logframe. This includes Three annual reports on context and tension analysis, and two market research.
3) to contribute as needed to BASATINE learning, reflection and evaluation initiatives to make sure lessons learnt are systematically integrated
