Field Coordinator

General Purpose of the Position: The Field Coordinator works in collaboration with the Project Director to ensure the effective management of the project, the implementation of AICS project activities, and management of direct communication with the appointed project manager for AICS. The Field Coordinator provides extensive support to the Project Director.

Main Responsibilities of the Position: 

I. Administration

  1. Manage the field task and activities in coordination and supervision of the project Director and maintain day-to-day relations with the school principal in the field.
  2. Regularly visit the different objectives to provide technical guidance and monitor implementation.

Deputize when requested; and when the project director is not available.

II. Monitoring and Evaluation

  1. With the support of the Project Director, implement regional M&E tools and/or develop new tools as required.
  2. Implement student evaluations, record data, and analyse findings.
  3. Collect student testimonials and ensures the documentation of JRS Higher Education events.

Ensure evaluations and proper monitoring of activities are done on a regular basis.

III. Human Resources

Support in all project-related human resources activities.

IV. Administration, Proposals, and Reporting

  1. Submit monthly reports to the Project Director.
  2. Support the Project Director in preparing six months and annual reports.
  3. Support the Project Director in developing yearly proposals along with the Country Programmes Officer.
  4. Consolidate trainings of staff done monthly and send through a report.
  5. Consolidate a proper list for all objectives of people served to make sure there is one online database for all beneficiaries.
  6. Help with distributions when needed, including preparation of lists for distributions, on ground implementation, and post-distribution lists.
  7. Ensure proper tracking and reporting of external referrals done by Social workers, and psychologist.

Follow up on the BvI, reporting, implementation of AICS project activities, and manage direct communication with the appointed project manager.

V. Availability

The field coordinator is available for other tasks required in the Project, which are within the ambit of the position and as requested by the Project Director.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Management, Education, or related (MA preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Experience in project planning, reporting and budgeting.
  • Experience in working in a humanitarian organization or context would be an asset.
  • Previous experience in the region is preferable.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Very good knowledge of English and Arabic, both oral and written is required.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint…).
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment with a multi-national staff.
  • Good interpersonal and facilitation skills with the ability to lead teams and deal with complex and/or divisive issues.
  • Capacity to work independently with limited supervision and support.
  • Openness to change and ability to manage complexities.

Ability to respond positively to critical feedback and differing points of view.
