Safeguarding Coordinator - Beirut

The Opportunity

The Safeguarding Coordinator shall lead on the implementation of and maintain the standards of Safeguarding in Lebanon operations. The role holder will always act as an ambassador for Safeguarding and role model high levels of professional safeguarding behaviour required by the Child Safeguarding, PSEA, Anti-Harassment, Bullying and Intimidation policies and Code of Conduct.  The postholder works closely with Partnerships and Localization to support local and national organizations to deliver against their Safeguarding accountabilities.  The postholder also is the primary focal point for the HCT PSEA working group and other external fora as needed.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human rights, Psychology, Child Protection or relevant field.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English and Arabic is essential.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in working with Child Safeguarding or Child Protection or PSEA issues in a humanitarian context
  • Experience in leading internal investigations
  • Minimum two years’ experience in delivering training and capacity building for large-scale programmes, in both emergency and development contexts, mainly excel, word, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Proven sense of professional discretion and ability to keep confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
