Context & Background

 

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.

 

The Accelerator Program's mission is to nurture and grow disruptive ideas, proof of concepts, and prototypes that share three common characteristics:

  1. A disruptive innovation in the AgriFoodTech and CleanTech sectors
  2. The possibility to scale beyond the local market
  3. The potential to create sustainable job opportunities locally

 

Scope of work

 

The ACT Smart Innovation Hub seeks an ecosystem partner that has experience in facilitating ideation workshops/sessions/hackathons and has knowledge in the AgriFoodTech and CleanTech sectors.

 

The engagement includes:

  • Support Berytech in promoting AgriFoodTech and CleanTech innovations as a potential future for people willing to venture into this sector and attract Men and Women, of all ages including youth to participate
  • Run an activity of your choice based on your tools of outreach and ideation to attract and support potential applicants. Could be:
    • Organize 1 online or offline “Ideathon” event (could be over several days or half days, or several hours over time)
    • Attract at least 50 quality participants or 15 teams participating in the event
    • Activity to be a minimum of 4 hours up to 3 full days of active engagement
    • Activities to include engagement that focus on design thinking, problem tree formulation identifying customers characteristics and needs, business model formulation, team formation and or others
    • Focusing on current challenges in both sectors and finding innovative solutions to address them  

 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in organizing similar events with audience related to technological innovation and economic activities related to agrifood and clean technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to cooperate with local universities, NGOs, and civil society
  • Previous experience in organizing online or offline outreach campaigns
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relations with local decision makers and supporting entities
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit quality staff for ideation events or startup support
  • Demonstrated strong communication results and professional credibility to influence entrepreneurs and youth

To submit your proposal, Berytech will need the following:

Technical Proposal:

  • Description of the organization and previous experience in running such activities (1/2 page)
  • Outreach geography and demographics (1/2 page)
  • Description of the activity(ies) to be done (2 pages max)

 

Financial Proposal:

  • Description of the expected expenses split into the following:
    • Staff cost (number of staff and man day rates)
    • Social media / promotional cost
    • Logistical costs (details)
    • Award(s) for winner(s)
