Case Worker

Job Purpose

The key worker in a case who maintains responsibility for the child’s care from identification to case closure.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct age-appropriate and specialized support and care for vulnerable children (including survivors of GBV), including counseling and case management. 
  • Attends weekly meetings with the Line Manager, to share lessons learned and exchange experiences.
  • Writes weekly reports, and refers specific cases.
  • Identify individual cases through regular presence in the community, either in center or attending online sessions when possible, and accept referrals from other agencies and community partners.
  • Conduct initial (rapid) assessments for CP cases and prioritize them according to risk level.
  • Develop case plans that respond to needs addressed in initial and comprehensive assessments and seek support of supervisor when necessary.
  • Regularly follow up to ensure all services and action points listed in the case plan are carried out within agreed time frames. Ensure that progress is regularly reviewed.
  • Work with supervisors and managers to arrange case conferences for complex cases and ensure children receive multidisciplinary support.
  • Manage cases in line with SOPs, adhere to standard documentation processes and follow best practice guidance.
  • Regularly document cases using case notes and other agreed upon forms, update databases to ensure a comprehensive record of the case.
  • Ensure that data collection and storage respect data protection protocols and confidentiality principle

Job Requirements:                                                                                                        

Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor degree in sociology, or any related field.

Professional Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in report writing.

 Skills

  • Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic. (French is a plus)
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Highly organized and attentive to details.
  • Initiative, high sense of responsibility, organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
