National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) Physician

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes and direct supervision of the Public Health Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for conducting the below tasks:

  1. Organize and oversee awareness raising activities about TB disease for prisoners and the prison’s administrative and healthcare workers.
  2. Plan and coordinate activities related to active case finding among prisoners.
  3. Perform a clinical evaluation for presumptive TB cases among prisoners.
  4. Coordinate and supervise activities related to facilitating access to diagnostic services through the collection of sputum samples from presumptive TB cases and organizing sample/ patient transportation to the NTP lab or other facility for further investigation.
  5. Supervise treatment adherence support done by CHW and PHC or clinics (health workers.
  6. Monitor the reporting mechanism of adverse events related to the anti-TB treatment.
  7. Prepare monthly reports related to the awareness sessions and screening activities.
  8. Participate in coordination meetings between the different partners.
