Child Rights Governance Coordinator - Beirut

The Opportunity

Under the management from the Central and South Area Manager, the Child Rights Governance (CRG) Coordinator is responsible for the promotion of the Rights of the Child in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child through co-operation with local and regional organizations, institutions, authorities, and international organizations.

This position of CRG Coordinator will lead the implementation of the CRG projects in the Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and South Field Offices. This should be done according to the guidelines of Save the Children International which aims to strengthen the civil society in which children are perceived as social players and human beings in their own right. This includes budget as well as programmatic implementation and monitoring according to SCI standards.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Degree in social work, international relations, human rights or development studies.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in partnerships with NGOs / CSOs and government
  • 2-4 years of child rights and/or child rights governance programming experience with at least 1- year staff management experience preferably with INGO(s)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong understanding of child rights and governance.
  • Strong experience in field work and community mobilization; and in training groups of children and other community members.
  • Strong experience working with local partners and capacity development
