Community Center Coordinator - Aleppo - Syria

Main Tasks:

 

  • Provide leadership and supervise the implementation of all community center activities.
  • Monitor and lead the community center team and follow up on their progress and needs.
  • Manage day to day activities and coordinate logistics for the community center activities.
  • Ensure all activities have the tools, space, and resources necessary to carry out the activities.
  • Ensure that all center activities are in compliances with Dorcas Code of Conduct.
  • Prepare (weekly, and monthly or as requested) reports detailing the progress of projects in the Center, the challenges faced, and the achievements.
  • Plan and organize regular need assessments and actively participate in developing a need assessment framework and tools.
  • Perform, as required, other tasks directed by the Programs Department and field coordinator.
  • Work with key members of the beneficiary communities benefiting from the project.
  • Liaise with relevant NGOs, government agencies and national institutions in the area to maintain a network and cooperation in psychosocial, protection and educational fields.
  • Respect principles of data protection and security, and all guidelines of documentation within the project and keep data records.
  • Attend and participate in all Dorcas trainings when requested, including GBV, referral, protection, safeguarding and PSS trainings.
  • Provide internal reporting to the line manager on project activities according to Dorcas internal tools.
  • Attend Sector working groups and submit reports after to the operation and technical managers.
  • Contribute in reporting to the donors.
  • Other duties as assigned by the management.

 

Knowledge and Skills

 

  • Bachelor in Social work/sociology/ psychology or management or any related field. Candidates with Master degree are also invited to apply;
  • At least 4 years working with NGO experience; Managerial level is a plus;
  • Experience working  with child protection and psychosocial support programs;
  • Settled character with ability to cope with stressful, delicate and possibly unstable situations;
  • Proactive attitude, flexible personality, strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • S/he should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic;
  • Strong analytical, communication, time-management and leadership skills, must be reliable and have high personal integrity level;
  • Adherence to the mission and vision of Dorcas.
  • Reflect the vision and values of Dorcas with team members, local staff, beneficiaries and external contacts
