These activities include skills building trainings for beneficiaries on diverse topicsbased on the needs of the participants. The trainer/consultant is required to coordinate with the project manager to combine the needs with the training’s material.
Areas of Responsibility:
The Environmental specialist is required to support the trainees in acquiring best practices and executing these in the field.
Job Responsibility:
The Environmental specialist is expected to deliver the following:
- Finding creative design solutions to pressing environmental problems, requiring a good deal of creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Helping the trainees with design technology for waste management.
- Improving environmental conservation management, including recycling, public health, and water and air pollution.
- Identifying critical development areas such as renewable energy, climate change, and food and water security.
- Ensuring projects design compliance with environmental and health regulations.
- Introducing the use of specialized equipment to test soil and water.
- Improving waste management system design.
- Advising on reclamation and disposal of air, water and land.
- Evaluating current systems and design innovative ways to improve or replace the existing systems or processes.
- Introducing reports for environmental-related complaints.
- Developing guidelines for the disposal of hazardous materials.
- Assessing and identifying potential environmental and social impacts of any project with key measurable indicators.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- BA in related field.
- Minimum of three years’ in relevant experience.
- Problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal skills, as you will be working with different entities for the common good of the community.
- Strong engineering background.
- Planning and organization skills.
- A general interest in the environment and the desire to help make it better.
- Experience in, solid waste treatment, waste law, environmental protection, landfill Reclamation or related to Solid Waste Management.
Deliverables
The provider of services shall be responsible for the following deliverables.
- Training Syllabus and timetable
- Materials used throughout the workshop and training curriculum.
- Training logistics (attendance sheet, record keeping…).
- Total cost including number of hours and/or days + cost per hours and/or day.
- Appraisal by the end of the training with further recommendations.
Reporting
The Environmental specialist shall report to the project manager.
