Finance Manager

Responsibilities and Obligations

  • Ensure credibility of Finance and Accounting by providing accurate and timely accurate analysis of budget, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Manage the Accounting, Procurement and Payroll Functions.
  • Analyze cash flow, cost control, expense and all financial statements to pinpoint any potential areas for improvement.
  • Develop all policies and procedures of the Finance Department in order to organize the workflow and ensure its appropriate implementation.
  • Approve all financial reports submitted to donors.
  • Provide financial inputs to Project Managers for Proposal Development.
  • Generate monthly financial report to be sent for area managers, head of units and executive director.
  • Monitor and validate the donors’ budget and correct any discrepancy.
  • Monitor the expenditures to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately as per the pre-defined schedules.
  • Oversee the financial audits of all projects of the organization.
  • Oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers and others.
  • Prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash flow Statement), and make recommendations to the organization on budget expenditures.
  • Submit fiancial report to the Executive Director / Board of Directors as requested.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with laws and regulations; audit and control all archived financial data
  • Ensure timely renewal of contracts/ agreements with third parties, including but not limited to banks, insurance companies, landlords, etc...).
  • Participate in all activities organized by himaya (staff care, Christmas, end of year gathering).

Educational background, experience and needed skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, master’s is a plus. 
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good knowledge in General Accounting Principle.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Taxation Laws.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English, French is a plus.
