Gender & Inclusion Specialist - Bekaa Area

The Gender & Inclusion Specialist provides technical guidance and oversight on implementation across Nabad portfolio in Lebanon with a focus on gender mainstreaming and inclusion of children and persons with disabilities. The position holder is expected to work closely with field operations teams to identify gaps and support teams in ensuring program are gender sensitive at a minimum and gender transformative wherever possible, as well as accessible and meaningfully engaging people with disabilities. The position holder is expected to identify and drive forward recommendations on inclusive programming. S/he must be proactive, results oriented, able to manage a large workload and work with diverse range of people.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support in the design process of the project and participate in the gender and disability assessment including development of the mainstream plan for the project.
  • Ensure the project design includes practical and strategic activities designed to promote gender and disability inclusive outcomes.
  • Support delivery of an integrated gender transformative and disability inclusive approach.
  • Liaise with district-level partners, including Disabled People’s Organizations and women’s rights groups to plan and implement gender and disability inclusion initiatives.
  • Prepare high quality reports, both narrative and quantitative information. Ensure all reports are delivered according to high quality standards and are always submitted on time as per Nabad standards.
  • Ensure clear process in place for tracking and reporting on progress against the gender and inclusion mainstreaming action plans.

  • Identify funding streams that could support specific gender and disability inclusion projects in the targeted area.
  • Working closely with the MEAL team to ensure sex and age and disability disaggregated data and is consistently produced and used to inform programming at all levels.
  • Deliver technical assistance to stakeholders to build capacity around development of inclusive practices and policies.
  • Comply with Nabad policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Nabad has zero-tolerance towards sexual abuse, exploitation, and harassment.
