Animator

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the juveniles follow the Center’s rules and regulations.
  • Create educational and recreational activities for the juveniles and provide them with character building exercises.
  • Wake up all juveniles at eight o'clock in the morning to start their day.
  • Be with them during the four meals and help them acquire table manners.
  • Be present with them during the completion of the tasks twice a day, in the morning and after eating.
  • Ensure that their rooms and closets are in properly arranged.
  • Take care of arranging their external appearance and personal hygiene.
  • Manage the task of washing juvenile clothes according to a specific program appointed by the program officer.
  • Record the needs of the juveniles and the center on a weekly basis and give them to the Correctional Center Team Leader.
  • Deal with minors in a diplomatic manner, far from violent behavior.
  • Integrate new juveniles and inspect their personal belongings.
  • Cooperate with the Correctional Center Team Leader and inform them directly of any emergency or strange events.
  • Send daily and detailed report on the course of the day.
  • Accompany juveniles outside the center and to specialists when needed.
  • Build a calm and loving spirit between all minors.
  • Act with justice and balance between all minors, without discrimination.
  • Support management in intervening when needed in cases of emergency.
  • Technical Competencies
  • Experience in care taking, schools, orphanages, or organizations working specifically with children and youth is highly valued.
  • Experience in working with international NGOs is a plus.
  • Behavioral Competencies

  • Candidates ought to be patient, able to work under pressure, strong communicators, able to deal with emotional situations and capable of following agreed on protocols and procedures.
  • Candidate ought to know how to be decisive, fair and just in all situations.
  • Job Environment

    Job Requirements & Complexities

  • Work has to be face-to-face and cannot be implemented remotely.
  • Work environment is safe and pleasant in an indoor setting.
  • Internal & External Contacts

  • Daily interaction with Correctional Center Staff Members
  • Ongoing interaction with juveniles in the correctional center.
  • Sporadic interaction with parents or guardians with juveniles.
  • Limited interaction with specialists, doctors or external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Education or other fields in the humanities. Master’s Degree is a plus.
• Certification or Proof of Training in Child Protection, Do No Harm, and Ani-Harassment is mandatory for this role, incase candidate does not have it, we can offer it if shortlisted.
