Child Protection Assistant - Zahle

The Opportunity

Under the management of the Child Protection Officer, the Child Protection Assistant is responsible for delivering and following up on Psychosocial Support and Qadwa activities on the field in Multi-Service Community Centres.

The Child Protection Assistant will be responsible for the direct implementation of project activities. The project activities will include but will not be limited to delivering awareness raising for children and caregivers on Child Rights and Child Protection related issues. Moreover, the Child Protection Assistant will be responsible for facilitating and supporting community led initiatives related to child rights, child protection, and social cohesions. This should be done according to the guidelines of Save the Children International.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or other related studies.
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
• At least 1 year experience in the Child Protection field.
• Experience in Psychosocial Support programming and community mobilisation.
• Good reporting skills and
• Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to plan and organize and work in a systematic and organized manner.
• Strong team player with high team spirit and positive attitude.
• Computer knowledge especially MS office
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
