Research Assistant

 Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Summarize newspapers articles in Arabic
• Transcribe interviews conducted in Arabic
• Data entry and coding of newspapers in Arabic
• Support in data management and analysis
• Support in writing reports and academic papers
• Provide logistical support with project’s activities
• Support in evaluating various projects’ activities
• Work with a strict framework of research ethics and confidentiality.

The Research Assistant will report on the above activities to the Senior researcher and support all CLS team members.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of social sciences, history, political science.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a research environment.
• Desirable: knowledge and experience in archival research, transcription and data entry
• Research experience in collecting and analyzing quantitative & qualitative methodology and data management
• Experience in supporting with writing up full research reports.
• Proof of good writing skills and publications
• Experience with presenting research results
• Proficiency in Arabic and English languages
• Creativity and ability to contribute ideas to the projects
• Proven ability to work as part of a team
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
