ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in development and emergency settings.
As part of its current restructuring process in alignment with its Three-Years Country Plan (2023/2025), ABAAD is recruiting specialists for its new Model Centers for multidisciplinary Holistic Care to Combat GBV in Lebanon in different regions around the country.
JOB TITLE: Group Social Worker
JOB PURPOSE:
The Group Social worker will conduct awareness-raising on GBV, protection, prevention, response and self-protection for children, adolescents, women and men from a psychological stand point. The Group social worker will delivering Psycho-Social Support activities for various vulnerable groups, from different socio-economic backgrounds, nationalities, gender, directly survivor or at risk of GBV with a more specialized psychological input.
REPORTING LINES: Center Coordinator
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and conduct appropriate and psychosocial activities for women and, men, adolescent girls and boys in static/ABAAD center and in the community settings.
- Identify psychosocial needs of communities and provide recommended plan of PSS cycles based to Supervisor.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and 3-month work plans in a timely manner and incorporate approval of the line manager feedback.
- Participate in weekly internal meetings to ensure adherence to standards of appropriate case management, as well as psychosocial activities;
- Regularly document technical all the implemented PSS activities.
- As requested, participate in coordination and information sharing activities with local and international stakeholders.
- Support the team in the implementation of other activities when needed.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
- BA, Master or equivalent Degree in Social Work, Psychology or any related field;
- Minimum three years of experience in a similar position;
- Knowledge of GBV prevention and response & Child Protection core concepts and guidelines;
- Experience of working in/with non-government organizations;
- Experience in implementing international and national principles and standards related to working with women/ girls exposed to violence, their families, people with Special Needs/Disability, Juveniles, Refugees, Migrants and Marginalized Groups.
- Belief & adherence to ABAAD’s mission and vision;
- Respect for ABAAD Code of Conduct and its PSEA Policy;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with GBV data collection system and safe and ethical guidelines.
- Commitment to human rights, child protection and gender equality;
- Flexible pro-active attitude;
- Ability to work well as an individual and within a team;
- Ability to manage an unpredictable workload in a challenging environment;
- Ability to work across socio-cultural and religious contexts;
- Languages: Fluency in spoken and written Arabic, clear and concise reporting in English is strongly preferred. French is a plus;
- Must be computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
