- Conducts background research on proposal opportunities to determine Order of Malta’s competitiveness and strategic positioning.
- Writes, drafts and edits concept notes and funding proposals in the medical, social, agriculture and education fields (including log frames and budgets) for a variety of donors.
- Assists in collection and analysis of information necessary for innovative and responsive proposals.
- Serves as primary proposal writer, drafting, editing, and ensuring final production of competitive proposal for submission to donor; uses writing skills to transform technical content and conceptual design into polished final proposals that are responsive to donor guidelines.
- Ensures proposals are developed in coordination with the different departments.
- Manages the proposal development process to ensure proposals and concept notes are developed in a timely manner and with realistic deadlines.
- Supports ongoing projects in their periodic reports and official requests to existing donors.
- Coordinates both internally and externally, to ensure that prior to submission all proposals are reviewed and approved by the relevant parties as appropriate.
- Develops and utilizes tools, templates and work processes that result in streamlined and efficient proposal development and teamwork.
- Participates in evaluations of both successful and unsuccessful proposal development processes and identifies possible areas of improvement.
- Conducts field visits to the PHCCs, MMUs and agriculture sites as appropriate.
