Job Description of psychotherapist at MECC (Middle East Council of Churches)  for 2023

• Help children learn and practice vital trauma resiliency skills during fun and therapeutic games and exercises taught and evaluated by a licensed psychotherapist.
• Follow up on their symptoms with self-care strategies and practical interventions through a curriculum previously set and approved by Manager and Program Coordinator.
• Design activities focused on psychosocial support ahead of time.
• Monitor and evaluate all of the children’s and youth sessions throughout the PSS cycle – length of project
• Provide regular inputs on overall project design through monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Provide individual psychological support sessions to Women and adolescent girls survivors or at risk of GBV, women, adolescent girls and boys attending GBV awareness sessions and PSS activities, and boys and girls’ children attending PSS activities.
• Conduct PSS sessions to male and female children, adolescents and adult women
• Provide relevant support to team members conducting PSS and GBV Awareness activities to women, adolescent girls and boys and children
• Conduct individual psychotherapy, self-care and debriefing sessions to MECC staff on regular basis
