NAHNOO is a registered Lebanese Non-Governmental & Non-Profit Organization. NAHNOO has been working since 2009 as a research, capacity-building and advocacy platform for participatory policymaking, towards an inclusive society in Lebanon. The NGO rallies volunteers across Lebanon and through multidisciplinary and participatory research, capacity-building workshops, and grassroots activities, we provide a platform for youth and professionals to lead the planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns and gain the skills needed to impact policy-making at the local and national levels.

Project Background

The upcoming municipal elections in 2023 represent a direct opportunity for Lebanese youth to participate in the democratic political process, make their voices heard for public institutions in making positive change on public service and hold their leaders accountable. Therefore, it is crucial more than ever to educate and motivate them about this process and the importance of voting as well as to believe in the power of their participation in shaping their country’s governance.

Scope of work, format and key task:

The trainer will be responsible for conducting engaging and interactive training workshops on the basics of running a municipal elections campaign, covering all essential aspects from registration to  strategical planning and implementation.

It is expected:

- The preparation and delivery to develop in 1 full day (i.e 8h) in each town (Hasbaya and Aley), including the design and administration of pre & post tests to measure the increase in knowledge.

- The delivery of the workshops will happen in presence using interactive methods

- The agenda, presentation and any training material to be shared with NAHNOO beforehand for review and branding

Qualifications/level requirements

Applicants with the following experience are welcome to apply:

• Minimum Master’s degree in Political Science,Law international affairs or any field related to electoral campaigning
• Documented professional experience in conducting similar trainings and developing municipal campaigns
• Proven proficiency with current Lebanese municipal and political context;
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and engage youth in workshops, communicating effectively with a group of participants;
• Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken)

Proposed period and duration of consultancy

The training sessions represent 2 days total between April and May 2023.

1 full day = 8h of work

Selection criteria:

The trainer will be selected based on the quality of the proposed approach and competitiveness their financial proposal.
