Gender Empowerment Consultant (PSEA and GBV)

1. Objective

The global objective of the project is to provide a long-term response to the crisis for food producers in the Bekaa region in order to maintain their production while enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities, stimulate the local economic growth and promote Bekaa’s culinary heritage.

By increasing numbers of visitors in the region, this project will support Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and contribute to the long-term sustainability of local agriculture and food systems, while promoting social and economic inclusion of vulnerable population in particular youth, women and refugees

2. Scope of work

• The PSEA and GBV Trainer will be responsible for providing training on PSEA and GBV prevention and response to 60 selected participants from 10 different MSME’s under Shabake 2 project. The trainer will also provide technical support to the PSEA and GBV
• focal point and ensure compliance with the PSEA and GBV policies and guidelines of FTL.

• The consultant will dedicate 4 days of a period of 1 month to develop and implement the intervention with beneficiaries of the project

3. Outcomes

The following outcomes are what the activity aims to achieve:

• Beneficiaries having improved skills and knowledge in PSEA and GBV
• The participants will be able to know all the PSEA and GBV reporting and referring organization 
• Protection against sexual harassment – Reporting mechanism.
• Increased knowledge and understanding of PSEA and GBV prevention and response among the beneficiaries.
•  Effective implementation of the FTL PSEA and GBV policies and guidelines.
• Increased capacity of the PSEA and GBV training participants.
• Collaboration and exchange of knowledge with the participants on PSEA and GBV prevention and response.
• Implement and circulate FTL’s PSEA and GBV policy.

4. Deliverables

• Final reports including details on participants reached and pre and post training tests received
• To facilitate the work with the participants
• To prepare the workshop material for the sessions
• To prepare the pre-post test and evaluation for each of the sessions
• To facilitate workshops with the participants
• Develop and deliver PSEA and GBV training modules to beneficiaries of the organization, ensuring the training is appropriate, effective, and participatory.
• Work with the PSEA and GBV focal points to ensure the PSEA and GBV policies and guidelines are understood and implemented.
•  Ensure the organization's PSEA and GBV response mechanisms are in place and functional.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the PSEA and GBV training.

5. Qualifications

• Bs degree in social science or any related field
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the GBV, PSEA or protection sector
• Previous experience in leading training and capacity building session highly desired
• Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic is essential.
• Familiarity and experience with PSEA principles and the global latest developments of PSEA is an asset
• Proven knowledge of Fair-Trade principles
• In depth knowledge of the Lebanese context
