BACKGROUND
Mada seeks a qualified Videographer and Video Animator to work on the production of a promotional project video with content coordinated by Mada under the WATAD project, under Shabake 2, supported by Agence Française de Développement - AFD and the Centre de Crise et De Soutien and implemented by the French public agency for international technical cooperation Expertise France.
JOB SUMMARY
The Videographer and Video Animator is responsible for developing an interactive and appealing video for project activities. The Videographer and Video Animator would be in charge of delivering one project promotional video between 5 to 7 minutes. The videos will be a showcase Mada’s achievements in agro-ecology to a wider audience and to showcase agro-ecology as a viable alternative to conventional agriculture, as well as to ensure the project, Mada and donor visibility.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate is expected to:
- Coordinate with concerned staff and discuss possible approaches to the video production.
- Closely coordinate with the Project Manager; the Videographer and Video Animator will work with the support of the team, who will provide general instructions and guidelines, and review work on a regular basis to ensure overall quality.
- Provide an outline of the video (content, delivery, and timeframe before the completion of the full content).
- Use animation, infographics, sketches, diagrams etc. where and if appropriate.
- Conduct interviews with beneficiaries, staff and partners as required.
- Conduct field visits to project sites to include content and better understand the project and objectives.
- Maintain a common flow and structure in the generated content.
- Consult with Project Manager on scheduling and deliverables.
- Edit and finalize the video accordingly, add voice-over when needed.
DELIVERABLES:
- First version of the promotional video for review and comments, after which a second and then final version will be delivered.
- Obtain consent from individuals featured in the video using the consent form provided by Mada.
- Content of the video to include: voice-over, music, and effects
- Production will take place starting July and over 12 months. The consultant will collaborate with and arrange for reviews and approvals with stakeholders for the concept development, and final cut of the video.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A University degree in Digital Media, Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, Animation, or a related field with 5 to 10 years of experience.
- Additional relevant professional qualifications in media and communication (including videography and editing) are required.
- Ability and flexibility to effectively grasp, incorporate, and change based on the inputs and feedback of multiple contributors.
- Previous experience working with NGOs in a similar role.
- Basic knowledge in the field of agriculture and agro-ecology.
- Working experience in development or humanitarian environment is desirable.
