World Learning – Dirasa Program - Math Program Officer

The UNICEF-funded Programme “Supporting Vulnerable Girls & Boys to Access Education in Lebanon" aims to create for out-of-school children’s multiple pathways that are flexible and responsive to each child’s unique learning needs. The program will be implemented in private schools and is estimated to target out of school children. World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “Math Program Officer” for the UNICEF-funded Programme. This position is for a Lebanese national. Scope and Responsibilities The Math Program Officer will work closely and report to and assist the World Learning’s Beirut office Project Manager, in coordination with Math Specialist in all math unit activities related to UNICEF-funded program focused on non-formal primary school education in Math. S/he will be able to: • Attend and deliver training on the project Holistic Learning Approach (HLA) and Balanced Math Approach (BMA). • Work with distance learning and web conferencing to support teachers and meet on a regular basis. • Contribute to the development of training materials. • Train Educational Quality focal points and semi-private school teachers before the launching of the SBP & following up with teachers when needed. • Contribute to coaching and supporting teachers, during recurring project activities. • Be willing to visit schools’ areas across the country as frequently as needed. • Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by Project Manager. Required Qualifications: • BS/ Master’s degree in Math Education, focus on primary school education is a plus. • Excellent spoken and written English and/or French. • Excellent spoken Arabic. • Excellent Educational Technology skills in Math education • Teacher training experience. • Minimum 7 years’ experience teaching grades 1-6 Math in Lebanon • Knowledge of national Mathematics curriculum scope and sequence • Experience in teaching and/or working at the primary school level in Lebanon • Ability to work on multiple tasks and flexibility with project demands • Adequate experience in Microsoft office • Commitment to work under pressure and to deliver within timelines • Advanced interpersonal skills.
