Field focal point (Unlock Literacy) - Casual Worker/Tripoli

Job Summary

Male and Female Facilitators Field focal point will be responsible to ensure Facilitators implement and conduct appropriate Reading club and caregiver groups’ sessions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Trainings and learning
    • Attend all WV trainings and Professional capacity building/coaching sessions including education Unlock Literacy (UL) child protection (Core concepts, safe identification and referral, PSS), Child Safeguarding, gender equality and social inclusion, accountability and information management
    • Attend and participate in reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality education, referrals, and reporting requirements, are followed.

 

  • Administrative/ Operational Tasks
  • Maintain Proper administration for the clubs established in the local communities
  • Monitor and record time attendance of the Facilitators and address any issues related to attendance and punctuality with the team leader. Confer with the Facilitators as needed, regarding regular and punctual attendance on daily basis.
  • Ensure that children/ caregivers arrived safely and on time to the sessions
  • Ensure that the sessions are conducted on time.
  • Follow up with Facilitators/Facilitators assistants to ensure children are reaching their homes safely.
  • Ensure Facilitators record attendance of children and caregivers on hard and soft tools, follow up closely on absenteeism and those who dropped out or are at the risk of dropping out and keep a record of the follow-up actions taken
  • Follow up with facilitators to ensure proper data collection on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are, filled.
  • Ensure all project means of verifications (MOV) including registration sheets, attendance sheets, evaluation documents… for all Facilitators are in place.
  • Support the project coordinator to ensure that minimum standards of the community center are respected.
  • Maintain positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with students, colleagues, supervisors and other WV staff
  • Support in registration for selected children and caregivers on the system.

 

  • Education/ Technical
  • Ensure that facilitators prepared for the UL sessions as per the UL guidelines
  • Monitor the implementation of the sessions and daily activities of the Facilitators and provide feedback as needed.
  • Conduct session’s observations (reading club sessions and caregivers sessions) using project model tools with the support of the technical officer
  • Conduct one to one coaching sessions with caregivers facilitators with the support of the technical officer
  • Compile and report attendance on daily basis
  • Replace absent facilitators and facilitate the unlock literacy sessions for children Grade 1 to 3
  • Attend and actively participate in monthly Facilitators/ teachers learning circles (TLCs)

 

  • CP and Safeguarding
  • Identify and refer child protection cases following World Vision policies and mechanisms
  • Report child safeguarding cases and threats following World Vision policies and mechanisms
  • Ensure safe, secure (physical and emotional), simulative and inclusive child-centered environment to meet the abilities and fulfill the needs of the children (including children with disabilities and children with learning difficulties)
  • Respect and commit to WV’s internal policies and procedure including Child Safe Guarding, code of conduct, dressing code…

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in education and social development related field (Mathematics, Arabic Literature, French/English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, psychology, sociology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education or social animation) or LT in education
  • Proven experience in working in disadvantaged urban communities and vulnerable groups
  • Previous experience with children from 6 to 9 years old.
  • Capable of dealing with children who have experienced war distress
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge in using social media applications.
  • Knowledge in using MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate Level
