Social Worker

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Identify their assets, needs, opportunities, rights and responsibilities
• Plan what they want to achieve and take appropriate action
• Develop activities and services to generate aspiration and confidence
• Act as the link between communities and a range of other local authority and voluntary sector providers.
• Empower community’s active participation and engagement in making sense of issues which affect their lives
• Develop new resources in dialogue with the community and evaluating existing programmes
• Ensure that local people have their say
• Help to raise public awareness on issues relevant to the community
• Mediate in matters of conflict
• Plan, attend and coordinate meetings and events
• Do No Harm analysis
• Prepare monthly/quarterly report as required
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned

Academic Qualification & Job Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Counseling, Sociology or Psychology, or Certificates in related fields, Secondary Education, Community Based Volunteer
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for Right Holders(Clients)
• Demonstrate understanding of policies that affect vulnerable target groups
• Positive & Professional attitude and able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to details
• Ability to work as a team member 

Work Experiences:

• At least 1 to 2 years of experience with issues relating to social work, counseling, Gender Based Violence, Child Protection or Social Change
• NGOs experience
• Computer Skills
