Project Coordinator- National Mental Health Emergency Response Mechanism

 

A. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the project is running on time and to budget, monitoring the progress of project, coordinating with the internal and internal teams involved, contacting, and communicating with stakeholder hospitals and third parties, addressing evolving challenges pertaining to day-to-day operations of the project and ensuring efficient and sustainable operations. Responsibilities also include ensuring and maintaining all documents and archives are organized and updated and supporting the mission and vision of Embrace and that of the department. The Project Coordinator should be available to respond to emergency situations outside of working hours on a 24/7 basis.

C. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ​​​​​​Conducting research on the project/intervention concept and its implementation models globally and adapting it to the local context.
  • Coordinating and meeting with local stakeholders including governemental bodies and nongovernemental and civil society organizations relevant to the implementation of project activities to integrating their roles and perspectives.
  • Build the capacity of team members in de-escalation of mental health crises and responding to mental health emergencies. 
  • Presenting the project proposal to relevant donors and stakeholders as an adapted and contextualized model.
  • Coordinating project management activities, resources, equipment, and material.
  • Documenting and monitoring project plan, schedules, and expenditures.
  • Developing and maintaining of project documentations, plans and reports.
  • Coordinating with all focal points involved in the project including partners, operational organizations, and donor organizations.
  • Preparing and tracking project budget.
  • Implementing project procurement plan.
  • Developing and implementing reporting tools to monitor work plans and expenditures.
  • Submitting approrpirate legal paperwork.
  • Drafting and submitting narrative reports and M&E (monitoring and evaluation) reports pertaining to project activities. 
  • Anticipating addressing future recruitment of NMHERM team members and screening and recruiting new candidates as needed to the operations of the NMHERM.

D. QUALIFICATONS

1. Critical Skills

  • Master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing or Medical Degree in Pscyhiatry 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project management position
  • Miniumum of 2 years experience working in a medical setting or inpatient psychiatric unit.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Applications and other software needed for the job.
  • Experience using Google Workspace (Google Forms, Google Sheets)
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, French is an asset.

E. Ineligibility Criteria

  • The Project Coordinator should be available to respond to emergency situations outside of working hours on a 24/7 basis. Candidates who are not able to fullfull this criteria should not apply. 
  • Candidates with a bacheors degree and no relevant work experience will not be considered.
