Amel program for the support of Migrant Workers and Victims of Human Trafficking was established in 2011 to alleviate exploitation, discrimination, violence and trafficking. Efforts are produced to ensure a human relationship between the employer and the employee based on rights and duties. Protection is strived through advocacy, coordination, empowerment, awareness raising, group therapy, research, repatriation and provision of social, health and legal services. The program succeeded to support so far thousands of beneficiaries from Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and others. Activities are conducted in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Bekaa and the South; as well as on an international level in coordination with other Arab and European countries.
The full-time position is under supervision of the Program Coordinators, Amel Administration, and in close collaboration with Amel Workers, MWs Team, and the teams in the centers.
The position of Field Coordinator is the key position to coordinate and implement the activities of the program supporting Migrant Workers and Victims of Human Trafficking through Amel centers, and in collaboration with various stakeholders (NGOs, Governmental Organization, INGOs, Community leaders, other), to protect and empower this vulnerable population. This position entails social support and coordination with team members for the support of the beneficiaries, within ethical boundaries, and in accordance to International Human Rights Guidelines.
Tasks and duties
Task #1 - Responsible of the program implementation
Support the Rights of Migrant Workers by handling the daily follow up on the project’s activities in the field, and ensuring that the technical aspects of the project are running in accordance with the project’s objectives and strategies
Ensure smooth implementation, harmonization and effective use of the available resources
Task #2 - Implementation of the Program activities in Amel centers and the field for the realization of:
- Empowerment and Capacity building activities
- Provision of services: Social Legal, Group therapy and Health Services by the team
- Awareness Raising activities
- Support the line of production by beneficiaries
- Organizing Events that support the advocacy process
- Interventions in schools, with MWs and Employers
- Supports the advocacy process of the topic
- Implementation of events and ceremonies
- Other activities that fall under the program
- Availability to support the beneficiaries through service provision
- Organize and coordinate events for successful outcomes
- Provide Monitoring and Evaluation for the Implementation of the activities
- National and regional coordination for the activities of the program
- Optimal implementation of activities
- Conducting field visits when necessary
- Attending meetings with partners and following up on tasks on a national level
- Attending and organizing national and regional conferences/workshops
- Following up on media campaigns and publications
- Conduct regular evaluation and appraisal of implementation phases
- Writing and typing correspondence in English and Arabic
- Propose modifications or corrective actions when needed
- Report to the program coordinator all relevant information for a sound appraisal of implantation of the activities in conformity with the strategy and Amel vision
- Establish contacts with the implementing partners in the field
- Looking for opportunities of growth of Amel and sustainability of funds
- Dealing with a wide spectrum of donors and partners
- Conduct other tasks for the support of Amel mission and programs
Task #3 - Human Resources management
Manage the team in the field for sound implementation of activities, mainly social workers, teachers, head of centers, beneficiaries, community leaders, and employers and coordinate with lawyer, psychotherapist, doctors and nurses.
Follow-up with interns or volunteers if needed
Collect vouchers and expenses receipts and transmit them to Amel Administrative Department.
Task #4 - Reporting
- Prepare weekly progress reports and other relevant documents to be sent to the program coordinator
- Conduct regular field visits to the targeted centers and manage all programmatic and operational issues within these centers
- Contribute to the project’s Technical and Financial Reporting.
- Support in proposal writing when needed
- Ensuring documentation of events and update of website content
- Ensure documentation of the cases beneficiating from Services
- Financial management
- Manage expenses according to the budget, under the supervision of the Program coordinator and Finance department regulations
- Report expenses forecasts and needs
Skills:
Experience in coordination and team work is mandatory; Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills Experience in projects related to Migrant Workers is a plus Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PPT…)
Education degree: Masters Degree Field of education: Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Human Rights, Political Studies, Public Administration, Law degree, Sociology, Project Management, or other relevant field.
