Disability Inclusion Officer

General Objectives and Tasks:

1. Contribute to the effective inclusion of People with Disabilities in the workplace and community:

  •  Interview job seekers with disabilities approaching the Employment Office and prepare a detailed individual assessment report to determine the reasonable accommodations and assistive technologies needed for each job seeker to ensure full inclusion and ability to fully perform in the designated job
  • Advise technically the employment office team on best practices for the job matching of job seekers with disability
  • Follow up and coordinate on the work process with the Employment Office Team.
  • Conduct the accessibility assessment to determine the physical accessibility adjustments needed to ensure an accessible workplace for all people including people with disability.
  • Coordinate with the career coach within the employment office to assess the development of the job seeker with a disability.

 

2. Assist in the program research and development, and in the grants writing:

  • Screen, identify and analyze funding opportunities for Arcenciel’s employment program based on the field’s needs.
  • Assist the Senior Disability Inclusion Officer in designing projects and carrying out the theory of change, result framework, and logical framework.
  • Draft application forms, concept notes, and project proposals, following the guidelines of the funding agencies.
  • Participate in seminars, webinars, round tables, and workshops on disability issues in Lebanon.

 

3. Promote disability diversity and inclusion through a variety of strategies:

  • Conduct modules of training on disability inclusion for the purpose of normalizing the disability concept, tailored and targeted towards companies, NGOs, municipalities, schools, etc.
  • Prepare and conduct specialized assessment of accessibility for both public and private spaces, in coordination with the mobility program team.
  • Propose the accommodation needed to adjust the workspaces to become accessible.
  • Prepare inclusion toolkits customized to third parties.
  • Prepare and present specialized training toolkits and workshops in the field of diversity and inclusion, as well as in the field of self-development for people with disabilities.

Working Schedule: Monday till Friday; From 09:00 AM TILL 05:00 PM

Contract type: 1 year contract (Renewable depending on funding and performance).
