Job Summary
The Psychomotor Therapist will be able to help the children/ students improve their learning capacity and behavior through the provision of special reeducation and therapeutic tools, psychomotor techniques and comprehensive specialized services.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Duties
- Assess the level of psychomotor impairments/delay, difficulty and set accordingly an individualized Treatment Plan
- Conduct psychomotor therapy interventions to Syrian and Lebanese children/youth with special needs.
- Fill assessment and session record sheets upon each session.
- Fill discharge and end of treatment reports upon therapy completion
- Collaborate with parents through meetings in order to meet desired goals and to evaluate the child's current level, personal areas for development, and capacities.
- Undergo supervision and follow up session
- Report on the child’s evolution and progress to the inclusion officer as requested and develop discharge summaries
- Conduct awareness sessions with beneficiaries
- Work directly with the social worker to develop intervention plans and follow up at the home level
- Address needs and requests in a professional way
- Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others
- Always respect a refusal of treatment
Generic Duties
• Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures
• Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
• Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
• Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the Center Coordinator • Perform other related duties as assigned by the director
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Academic:
- Bachelor degree in psychomotor therapy
- MA degree is a plus
Other Qualifications:
- Communication, writing, analytical and negotiation skills
Additional Training:
- Ability to work with beneficiaries from different backgrounds (cultural, ethnic, etc.)
Related Work Experience:
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field, Previous experience working with children in vulnerable populations is preferable
Language skills:
- English and Arabic
Computer Literacy:
- MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate level
