Reports To : FSL Project Manager 

Job Purpose : Under the supervision of the project manager, the FSL Field Officer is responsible for the daily technical execution, supervision, monitoring and reporting of the field activities, and for ensuring proper coordination with stakeholders, municipalities, other authorities, participants and related B&Z departments, as well as for supporting the food security and livelihoods activities and the general humanitarian effort of the organization. The position requires extensive field work and movement in the Bekaa region in Lebanon.

Major Activities :

  • Identify target beneficiaries based on selection criteria through clear assessments on the field including communication with the relevant municipality
  • Conduct needs survey with stakeholders to identify needs and requirements
  • Follow up daily on the progress of work and day to day tasks
  • Monitor the implementation of activities, gather feedback from beneficiaries and submit a weekly detailed report about the activities and findings to the project manager
  • Collect data on project indicators and maintain an updated database on project progress
  • Follow up with the vet on tasks, progress, compliances, and challenges
  • Follow up with stakeholders on general and specific needs on the community level
  • Ensuring safety precautions measures are followed during implementation
  • Contribute to the wide dissemination and visibility of project achievements.
  • Contribute to improving strategies to facilitate the results-based implementation of project activities, and ensure constant feedback on the quality of their implementation, suggesting corrective measures as necessary
  • Maintain close coordination with assigned project team and stakeholders, helping at ensuring synergies and avoiding overlaps in project implementation.
  • Assist in tracking project performance at the community level and report, monitor, and follow up on project activities.
  • Work closely with Project Manager to prepare periodic project reports based on accurate and evidence-based data/information
  • Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation team in the tracking of the outcome of activities evidenced by accurate data to enhance the quality of reporting

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in agriculture, animal science, rural development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (1-2 years) in implementing livestock-related projects in development or humanitarian contexts.
  • Good understanding of animal husbandry, animal health, and livestock management practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams and communities.
  • Experience in community engagement, participatory approaches, and capacity building.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant donor guidelines and reporting requirements.

Competencies:

Functional: 

  • Computer proficiency in word processing, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
