Human Resources & Legal Affairs Officer

Responsibility 1: Human Resources (Lebanon – Jordan – Belgium)

  • Lead on the development of HR and legal guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain and manage all HR files and ensure all employees documents are duly provided and archived. 
  • Ensure internal and external compliance with equity guidelines, policies, and procedures; investigate issues of non-compliance as may be required.
  • Review and draft contracts, agreements, and ensure that they follow all statutory or legal requirements.
  • Assist with recruitment, staff capacity development and termination of employment.
  • Negotiate salaries, contracts, working conditions or redundancy packages with staff and representatives.
  • Manage all tasks related to social security, medical insurance, pensions, paid and unpaid leave, attendance, and benefits.
  • Oversee work and residence permits in Lebanon, Jordan, and Belgium.
  • Update job descriptions as needed.
  • Look after the health, safety, and welfare of all employees.
  • advising line managers and other employees on employment law and the employer's own employment policies and procedures
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Responsibility 2: Legal Affairs (Belgium – Jordan – Lebanon)

  • Ensure compliance with laws in Belgium, Lebanon, and Jordan.
  • Draft a wide variety of legal agreements.
  • Provide advice and support on legal issues related to the work of the organization in all its aspects.
  • Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the development of service agreements.
  • Analyze and review legal agreements, legislation, and documents for the Board and the General Assembly of the organization.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

 

 

Responsibility 3: Administration

  • Develop, implement, and conduct periodic reviews on all insurance policies and get advice on insurance coverage.
  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures for all operations including events.
  • Conduct risk assessment for all operations as needed.
  • Maintain regular checks of the organization’s inventory of equipment and furniture in all locations.
  • Provide reports on all legal, HR and security matters to the Finance and Admin Manager and to the Director.
  • Handle correspondence with lawyers and consultants in 3 countries as needed, under the supervision of the Finance and Admin Manager, and the Director.
