Context & Background

About ARYAF PROJECT

ARYAF serves Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises operating in food processing, local hospitality, tourism, the restaurant industry, eco-tourism, and agri-tourism within west Bekaa, Zahle and South Mount Lebanon.  

The program aims to empower sixty MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) to increase their sales volume, implement a business continuity plan, and provide training to their staff, including youth, women, and disabled individuals.

The program is funded by The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in partnership with Berytech, within the framework of Strengthening Agriculture, Local Communities and Small and Medium Enterprises project (ACE). 

SME Background

The charming town of Ramlieh is home to the classic Lebanese restaurant Cedrus Libani, which is encircled by a mesmerizing forest of pine and wild trees as well as the stunning mountains. Saj, a classic Lebanese flatbread offered with a variety of delectable toppings and grilled to perfection, is their specialty. With the help of Cedrus Libani, visitors may fully immerse themselves in the lively customs, music, and atmosphere of Lebanon.

Additionally, they provide a welcoming guest home with decent lodgings that encourages guests to thoroughly experience local culture. A cool pool at the guest home allows visitors to cool down and take in the peaceful surroundings. Additionally, an on-site store honors the abilities of regional artists by showcasing handcrafted goods.

The scope of work

The goal is to hire.

•             An artistic, detail-oriented interior design consultant with good interpersonal skills. The consultant’s key responsibilities include visualizing and sketching design plans as per client goals, sourcing products and materials, determining costs and inspecting completion to ensure alignment with design specifications.

•             The hired interior designer can think creatively about the use of space, color and movement and will draw charming simple designs for the indoor guest house, conference room and restaurant, he will submit as well drawing for the outdoor restaurant terraces, swimming pool and Bungalows…. He will also be an effective communicator with the ability to persuade in communicating a design idea.

The Architect shall provide services in respect of the following works:

  • Taking Client's/interior instructions and preparation of design brief.
  • Design and site development.
  • Structural design of RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) Structures.
  • Sanitary, plumbing, drainage, water supply and sewerage design.
  • Electrical, electronic, communication systems and design.
  • Fire detection, Fire protection and Security systems etc. If required
  • Periodic inspection and evaluation of Construction works.
  • Landscaping of open spaces, pool & Terraces

Methodology

  1. CONCEPT DESIGN:

The Architect shall provide conceptual designs for the existing Indoor units; Restaurant, conference room and Guest House, 3 bedrooms, balconies, lobby ….. The drawings will include furnishment.

He/ She shall provide drawings for the outdoor area; 2 Main entrances (Upper and Lower) restaurant/ terrace, Kids area, pool, Bungalows and Pool area …...

•             Furnish a site evaluation and analysis report with basic approach to circulation, activity, distribution, interaction, and external linkages.

•             Submit a report on extra works needed to ensure a perfect sealing using appropriate sealing products and application method needed to perform the activity.

•             Analyze schedule of spaces in relation to activities and site potential.

•             Prepare conceptual designs with reference to equipment and prepare rough estimate of cost on area basis.

Deliverable 1:

  • Site Evaluation Report including conceptual design budgeted.
  •  Report on Sealing work for the Guest house conference room…   

   

  1. PRELIMINARY DESIGN AND DRAWINGS:

•     Modify the conceptual designs incorporating required changes; prepare the preliminary drawings, interior views, and schedule of finishes for the client’s approval along with the preliminary estimate of cost on area basis.

Deliverable 2:  Preliminary design and drawings for the units cited in I. (At least two drawings / Unit)

 

  1. DRAWINGS FOR CLIENT'S/ STATUTORY APPROVALS:

•     Prepare drawings necessary for Clients/ statutory approvals and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and legislations, as applicable and assist the Client in obtaining the statutory approvals thereof, if required.

Deliverable 3:  Final designs and drawings for the units cited in I.

 

  1. WORKING DRAWINGS AND TENDER DOCUMENTS:

•     Prepare working drawings, specifications, and schedule of quantities sufficient to prepare estimate of cost and tender documents including code of practice covering aspects like mode of measurement, method of payments, quality control producers on materials and works and other condition of contract.

Deliverable 4:  Final working drawings with specifications and requirements cited in IV.

 

  1. APPOINTMENT OF CONTRACTORS: If Applicable during the agreement lifetime.

•     Invite, receive and analyze tenders for the units budgeted for construction; advise Client on appointment of contractors.

Deliverable 5: Tenders received and comparative table.

 

  1. CONSTRUCTION:

•             Prepare and issue working drawings and details for proper execution of works during construction or furnishment.

•             Approve samples of various elements and components

•             Check and approve shop drawings submitted by the contractor/ vendors.

•             Visit the site of work and fabrication workshop, at intervals mutually agreed upon, to inspect and evaluate the progress of works and where necessary clarify any decision, offer interpretation of the drawings/specification, attend conferences and meetings to ensure that the project proceeds generally in accordance with the conditions of contract and keep the Client informed and render advice on actions, if required.

•             To ensure that the work at site proceeds in accordance with the contract documents/drawings and to exercise time and quality controls, the day-to-day supervision will be carried out by a Construction Manager who shall work under the guidance and direction of the Architect and shall be appointed and paid by the Client.

•             Issue Certificate of Virtual Completion of works.

Deliverable 6:  Visit Tracking template.

                           Working Drawings.

                            Shop drawings.

 

  1. COMPLETION:

•             Prepare and submit completion reports and drawings for the project as required and assist the Client in obtaining "Completion/ Occupancy Certificate" from statutory authorities, wherever required.

•             Issue two sets of as built drawings including services and structures.

Requirements and skills

1.            Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field.

2.            Portfolio of design work.

3.            Project management experience.

4.            Experience with computational design.

5.            Highly creative, imaginative, and artistic.

6.            Excellent communication skills, especially regarding communicating an artistic vision.

7.            Proficiency in AutoCAD, Illustrator, SketchUp or similar design software.

Timeline and Application

The selected consultant is expected to start as soon as possible after selection. The contract duration is 12 weeks /three months including frequent site visits during implantation (At least 3 / month).

  • Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consulting company) background should be submitted (CVs shall be included as an annex) along with project references on the topic.
  • Financial Proposal describing the expected detailed renumeration per deliverable as listed above and the proposed timeframe of the intervention.
