About the Hariri Foundation (HF)

The Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development is a Lebanese non-governmental organization with special consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Tha Hariri Foundation is dedicated to sustainable development across various sectors, including Education & Training, Public Health, Community Support, Urban Development, and Environment & Agriculture. HF operates in partnership with stakeholders to promote citizen engagement, social cohesion, and community resilience.

Position Overview

Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development is seeking a Policy Researcher to design and apply research methods on policy-related topics as well as develop research papers and visual data-informed materials within multi-sectoral observatory settings.

Key Responsibilities

Research Design and Implementation

  • Design and implement research methodologies to address multi-sectoral policy-related topics.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, surveys, and interviews.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather relevant data and insights.
  • Training of diverse audiences on policy research methods and data analysis.

Data Analysis and Interpretation

  • Analyze research data using statistical methods and data visualization tools.
  • Interpret research findings and draw actionable policy recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Research Report Development

  • Develop high-quality research papers and reports on policy-related topics.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence of rersearch at the foundation to academic standards.
  • Collaborate with experts and peers to refine research outputs.

Visual Data-Informed Materials

  • Create visual materials, including infographics and data visualizations.
  • Translate research insights into engaging and accessible formats.
  • Support the development of visual communication strategies informed by research outcomes.

Multi-Sectoral Observatory Settings

  • Engage with multi-sectoral observatory settings to gather real-time data.
  • Foster collaborations with partners and institutions in the research field.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and policies in relevant sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public policy, social sciences, or a related field. A master's degree is advantageous.
  • Technical competency in using data analysis and data visualization software (Python, R, PowerBI, etc.).
  • Proven experience in designing and conducting policy-related research.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical software.
  • Excellent academic and non-academic writing skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into visually compelling materials.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
